I live in Wichita, KS, and I am followed by an Instagram account named thirty_and_basic. I'm cool with it.
Professionally, I don't always stay in a lane. I'll fix that someday, but for now I'm just going to say I'm probably best summed up as a digital producer/product guy. I just really enjoy working with creative people to build creative things. Being a professional child of the web 2.0 era meant technology startups, video, and social media was where I did that most often. Despite coming off as pretty lax about it here, I tend to be pretty serious about work when I'm in the thick of it.
Recently, I created and taught an 'Intro to Video Storytelling' summer course for high school students at the Wichita Center for Performing Arts. I was sucked into the 2016 election vortex and created a documentary series on the rules and structures of the US system. Ken Burns (name drop!) complimented some of the editing work. So that's cool. Before that project I worked at startups Timehop, Blip (now part of Walt Disney), and before those, Sanborn Agency.
